Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Testing Ownership: Perform and oversee all testing activities independently: test estimation, test planning, test strategy, test case design, test execution, and defect tracking.

• Process Engineering: Define, tailor, and implement software testing processes that can be seamlessly applied jointly across our internal team.

• QA Delivery & Optimization: Show creativity and initiative to expand test coverage, improve effectiveness, and provide actionable recommendations for QA deliverables.

• Metrics & Reporting: Set up testing toolsets, establish QA metrics, collect data, and deliver comprehensive testing status reports to stakeholders

• Automation Maintenance: Understand, maintain, and utilize existing automation frameworks to automate new test cases (focused on UI and API testing using JavaScript). 

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and train other QA team members to elevate their testing capabilities.

• Client Collaboration & Requirement Clarification: Join meetings with PO from Client/onshore developers for requirement clarification, discuss with Release Manager for release scope finalization and release sign-off. 

• Release Management & Quality Sign-Off: Responsibility for quality control every release. Sign-off for each release.

Qualifications

General requirements:

• At least an upper-intermediate level of English

• Likely having 7+ years of experience in the software development, especially the software testing processes

• Familiar with Agile development methodologies

• Experience with managing testing team & working with US clients

• Experience with defining/tailoring software testing process which can jointly be applied for the testing team & client’s teams

• Good human relation skills, ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams

• Able to handle multiple tasks at the same time and flexible with changes, adapt well with changes in assignments.

Technical requirements

• Strong domain knowledge on web/ mobile/ desktop app testing expertise

• Strong experiences on Manual testing (requirement analysis, test strategy, test approach, test plan, test techniques included black box, risk-based, exploratory, Non-UI testing, etc.)

• Experience on Automation testing, UI/API testing (JavaScript) 

• Leveraging AI-powered tools and automation agents to generate comprehensive test cases and execution scripts

• Excellent knowledge of software testing methodology, solid knowledge and experience applying Context Driven Testing is a big plus

• Hands-on experience on setting up testing toolset and metrics

Nice to have:

• Proficient daily use of AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) across the full SDLC

• Able to decompose complex tasks, provide effective context, and apply chain-of-thought and multi-step prompting workflows

• Experience with agentic workflows and AI-driven development frameworks

• Hands-on experience integrating AI tools with other systems via MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent

• Awareness of emerging AI tools and willingness to evaluate and adopt new capabilities
